Chime referral bonus: $100 standard offer and requirements

Whose reward is fixed?
The standard-program page addresses the person inviting a friend: the new friend receives $100 and the inviter's reward varies. The troubleshooting page addresses the newly referred customer: you receive $100 and your friend's reward varies. Those descriptions are consistent when the reader's role is kept straight. Limited-time offers may differ, so check the exact signup terms.
How do the three steps work?
Use the correct standard referral link when opening the account; Chime says it cannot be added afterward. Receive one eligible deposit at or above the threshold before the 45-day window ends. Activate the physical card in the separate 14-day window after that deposit.
Can two $100 deposits qualify?
No. Chime says smaller deposits do not combine for the $200 threshold. One eligible $200 deposit fits the stated amount requirement; two eligible $100 deposits do not. These examples explain the rule, not payout approval.
Does PayPal income count?
Chime's qualifying-deposit page says a PayPal balance transfer does not count, even if it comes from work. The payer source matters. Bank-to-bank transfers arriving by ACH also do not count.
What else can go wrong?
The Pay Anyone referral program is different from the Standard Referral Program. A different link can mean different terms. The physical-card step can be missed after the deposit lands, and the 45-day deposit window cannot be extended under the troubleshooting guidance.
Fees and deposit protection
Chime's homepage says optional services and products may carry fees or charges. Chime is not a bank. Banking services are provided through The Bancorp Bank, N.A. and Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC; pass-through conditions apply. Confirm the bank and current account agreement rather than infer every Chime service is free.
Is it worth it?
Use the $100 standard benefit only if the actual signup offer shows that benefit and you can meet all three steps. Subtract any planned service fees and account-switching effort. A $100 headline is not useful if your deposit comes from an excluded source or the card deadline is missed. No approved referral link is available on this page.
Offer history
3 October 2026: observed standard new-customer $100 benefit, variable inviter reward, a single $200 qualifying deposit within 45 days and physical-card activation within 14 days after that deposit. No older history has been invented.
Common questions
Can I add the link later?
Chime says no: the link must be used at signup. An account opened without it cannot retroactively join that referral flow.
Do bank transfers count?
No. Bank ACH transfers are listed as nonqualifying.
Is the referrer reward unlimited?
No. Chime states up to 10 successful standard referrals per calendar year.
Is the reward guaranteed?
No. The actual signup offer and all qualifying steps must be satisfied. Limited-time offers can differ from the standard program.
